Because They Believed

Created for the Foster Love Gala, Because They Believed is a tribute to resilience and the transformative power of belief. Featuring portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Coco Chanel, John Lennon, and Malcolm X — visionaries who rose from the foster system to shape culture — the piece layers digital collage with acrylic, glitter, jewels, and resin.
 
Two editions of this work were created: 
 
1/2 was auctioned live on stage at the gala, raising $13,000 in support of foster youth.
